How many hours are required for a South Carolina real estate license?
South Carolina requires a 60-hour Unit I course of approved pre-licensing education before you can sit for the salesperson exam, plus an additional 30 hours of post-licensing within the first year. Our 90-hour package covers the complete Unit I requirement.
How long does it take to finish the 90-hour course?
Most online students finish in 4 to 8 weeks of part-time study. In-person and flex students follow a 6-to-10-week schedule. The course is self-paced online โ you can move faster if you have the time.
Is the course SCREC-approved?
Yes. Real Estate School for Success is approved by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission for pre-licensing (Unit I), broker licensure (Units II and III), property management, and continuing education.
Do you really offer a pass-or-money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you complete our course, take our practice exams, and fail the SC state exam, we refund the full course tuition. Full terms are on the Policies page.
Can I switch between in-person and online?
Yes โ our flex format is designed for exactly that. You can attend any session in person at our Columbia campus or stream it live online. Recordings are available for 30 days after each session.
What does the state exam cost, and where do I take it?
The SC real estate salesperson exam is administered by PSI and currently costs about $63. Testing centers are located in Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Florence, and a few other locations across the state.
Do I need a college degree?
No. You must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and complete the required pre-licensing education. No college degree is required.
What is the difference between salesperson and broker?
A salesperson works under a sponsoring broker. After two years of active licensure and completing Unit II and Unit III (60 hours total), you can become a broker โ qualifying you to open your own brokerage or supervise other agents.
How often do I need to renew my license?
South Carolina requires license renewal every two years, including 10 hours of continuing education (4 hours of mandatory Core + 6 hours of electives). Our 10-Hour CE Package covers the full requirement.
Can I take classes from outside Columbia?
Absolutely. Our online and flex programs are taken by students from Greenville, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Florence, Rock Hill, Spartanburg, Sumter, Aiken, Orangeburg, and many other cities across South Carolina.
